Veteran's Day

To all who served, who are still serving and who will serve this beautiful country we call "home of the brave" and "land of the free", your dedication and heart is amazing. Thank you for your service and sacrifice as you lay your life on the line.

Thank you grandpa Mateo V. Mendoza for your valiant service in WW2 (Normandy, France).
We miss you and love you

Tin pail

I spray painted these $1 tin pails I bought at Target (in the dollar section) and placed a scrapbook sticker in the middle to later fill in with paint. After the pail was dry I mixed white and red paint to make the color pink and painted in the letter A (after removing the sticker).

These tin pails will be used for the utensils (for the baby shower). Later I'll find something else to use them for...

Magnet board ~ Brown-n-Pink

I had fun making this magnet board the material I used was much better than the burlap project (too messy).

1. Spray paint the magnet board with a cream color so the metal wont shine through the material.
2. Hot glue 4 strips of cardboard box at 2" wide (some use cork board) to line the back of the magnet board, this is to make it thicker than the paper thin sheet that it is. (**use needle nose pliers to slightly bend in the corners of the board so it doesn't cut through the material**)
3. Lay the magnet board on top of the material cutting a 2" seam allowance all around in order to hot glue it to the cardboard strips on the back.

4. Hot glue one side then tug to make a tight fit with a 2" seam allowance, pull tight so it's not loose.
5. Cut a 21" brown or pink (I only had brown but pink would have been nice to use) ribbon piece and hot glue it to the back 3" in from either side (this is to hang it).
6. Fold in the back material and hot glue it over the ribbon and on each side.

7. The items needed for the ribbon magnets are scissors, ribbon and buttons.
8. Cut 3 strips of 4" ribbon and fold under securing it with a dab of hot glue. Then layer than together making a flower by hot glueing each "pedal". Hot glue the botton on top and then the flower embelishments to the magnet.
